Keith Olberman of MSNBCI was linked to this diatribe by this guy on MSNBC's website named "Keith Olberman." What a laugh. This guy starts off by saying that his comments are not about yelling (hmmm... why would he need to stipulate that?) and not about politics (not that I'm suspicious, but he then says it's not really about prop 8 ... hmmm), and that he has no axe to grind as he has no friends or relatives that are gay (really - that's weird - I thought everyone had at least 1 token gay friend - I have several).

So this commentator without a clue ... I mean axe, goes on to tell us that the state of California's decision to define marraige as between one man and one woman is "HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE!"

(I caught him in the act of saying horrible for my picture - that's a little media trick to make an "unbiased" visual comment about someone without actually saying it; make their picture look really really bad by catching them in the middle of a word - cute trick, eh?).

He then says he has a question for me - the audience member who dared vote "yes" - "why does this matter to you?" And, you have to hear the arogant condescension in this loser's voice. I know he's some no body guy they put on a show no body ever heard of - but I think someone forgot to tell him. He comes off like he thinks he's Chris Matthews or something.

So, I was going to write and tell him why I care. But, search as I might on that MSNBC website, I could not find anywhere to contact him so I could answer the question. Apparently, he doesn't really want an answer.

He says, "these people over here want the same chance at permanence and happiness that is your option." No, I don't think that is what they want. I think they want validation of their behavior as a civil right. In the past civil rights were for equality of who you are and they don't have that because it's not a who you are question - it's a what you do.

So, anyway, beyond his being a hypocrite for saying he has no axe to grind and then grinding it (fiercely), and despite asking me to explain my position to him and then giving me no facility to do so (I had to roll my own), he never stops to consider that he is talking down to the majority of California voters who are for this constitutional amendment. Feel free to disagree with the masses, but don't treat people like bad children that we disagree with your politics nor forget who pays the bills.
